Oak slab wardrobe

This project was a real challenge for the team. The main oak slab weighed over 200 kg! The client approached us wanting a wardrobe that would fit the space but also make a statement, something that would immediately catch the eye as soon as you enter the room.

After several rounds of design discussions, we finalized a design. The wardrobe features a 90 mm thick oak slab on top, two oak-faced full-extension drawers, and two side-hinged doors beneath.

The oak was sourced locally from a tree surgeon where they had been drying. For the drawers, we used high-quality soft-close runners to ensure a premium feel, paired with beautifully leather-wrapped handles. The sliding doors, along with the back wall, were painted in French grey to complement and highlight the stunning grain of the oak.

I’m really pleased with how this project turned out. I was definitely a bit nervous on the day we fitted it, but seeing it in place made all the effort worth it. The client is just as happy, the wardrobe is exactly what he was looking for, and it’s great to see it make such an impact in the space.

I absolutely loved this project, such a different and interesting project to be a part of. Hope to do more of this in the future.
